Europa League: Chelsea, Dinamo Zagreb, Napoli, Valencia, Rennes, Yellow Sub Take Series Openers

Europa League Round of 16 play commenced on Thursday with eight games.

At London:

Pedro (17') , Willian (65') and Callum Hudson-Odoi (90') each scored once as Chelsea dominated visiting Dynamo Kiev 3-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Frankfurt, Germany:

Inter Milan held hosts Eintracht Frankfurt to a game-one 0-0 stalemate.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

Bruno Petrovic converted his 38th-minute penalty kick for the only goal of Dinamo Zagreb's series-opening 1-0 home victory over Benfica.

At Naples, Italy:

Arek Millik (10'), Fabrian Ruiz (18'), and Jerome Onguene (OG-58') each scored once as Napoli dominated visiting FC Red Bull Salzburg 3-0 in their series opener.

At Valencia, Spain:

Rodrigo Moreno Machado scored twice (12', 24') as Valencia defeated visiting FC Krasnodar 2-1 in game one.

At Seville, Spain:

Miroslav Stoch (25') and Alex Kral (39') each scored once as Slavia Prague gained a series-opening 2-2 road draw with Sevilla.

Wissam Ben Yedder (1') and Munir El Haddadi Mohamed (28') provided the scoring for the White and Reds.

At Rennes, France:

Goals through the courtesy of Benjamin Bourigeaud (42'), Ignacio Moreal Eraso (OG-65'), Ismailia Sarr (88') carried Rennes to a series-opening 3-1 victory over visiting Arsenal.

At Saint Petersburg, Russia:

Gerard scored the winning goal in the 64th minute as Villarreal, having their problems in the Spanish top flight (they're currently in 18th place and are threatened with relegation), knocked off Zenit Saint Petersburg 3-1 on the road in their series-opening match.
