Two Sunday games were contested in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

At Washington:

Paul Arriola (45'+1) and Luciano Acosta (58') each scored once as DC United ruined the opening of Atlanta United's MLS Cup title defense with a 2-0 home victory.

At Los Angeles:

Adama Diomande scored the stoppage-time game winner (90'+4) as the Los Angeles Football Club came from behind to upend visiting Sporting Kansas City 2-1.
