Two games were contested on Wednesday as the quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League reached its' midway point.
At La Chorrera, Panama:
Alexis Corpas scored the winning goal in the 59th minute as Independiente held off visiting Sporting Kansas City 2-1 in the opening match of their two-game series.
At Guadalupe, Mexico:
Nicolas Sanchez (PK-17'), Dorlan Pabon (80'), and Jesus Gallardo (84') each scored once as Monterrey dominated visiting Atlanta United 3-0 in their series-opener.
