At Kansas City, Kansas:

Despite being held to a 0-0 home stalemate by CD Olimpia, Sporting Kansas City won Group Two and a berth in the quarterfinal round.

At Santa Clara, California:

Chris Wondolowski scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute as the San Jose Earthquakes, despite finishing the contest with ten men, defeated visiting Heredia 1-0 to win Group Five and gain passage to the quarterfinal round.
