Group-stage play in the UEFA Champions League resumed with eight games on Tuesday, two of them in Group E.

At Bucharest, Romania:


Leandro Tatu's late equalizer (88') enabled Steaua Bucharest to salvage a 1-1 home draw with FC Basel.  Marcelo Diaz (shown here celebrating with teammates) scored in the 48th minute for the visiting Swiss club.

At Gelsenkirchen, Germany:

Fernando Torres scored twice (5', 69', that's him, wearing  jersey #9, as he celerates with teammates) as Chelsea dominated Schalke 3-0 on the road.
