At Setif, Algeria:
El Hadi Belameiri scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute as ES Setif took their series opener with Coton Sport 1-0 at home.
At Dolise, Republic of the Congo:
Mudather El Tahir scored in the 22nd minute to lift Al-Hilal Omdurman to a series opening 1-1 road draw with AC Leopards.
At Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo:
AS Vita Club dominated the opening match of their series with South Africa's Kaiser Chiefs 3-0 at home.
