Copa Libertadores

Group-stage play in the Copa Libertadores resumed on Tuesday with six games.

Group One:

At La Paz, Bolivia:

Pablo Escobar scored twice in the second half (PK-56', 76') as The Strongest defeated visiting Velez Sarsfield 2-0.



Group Five:

At Montevideo, Uruguay:

Felipe Gedoz scored twice in the second half (63', 77') as Defensor Sporting blanked visiting Cruzeiro 2-0.

At Huancayo, Peru:

Enzo Gutierrez scored the winning goal in the 76th minute as Universidad de Chile came from behind to top Real Garcilaso 2-1 on the road.

GROUP FIVE STANDINGS:

1. Defensor Sporting (GP: 3; GD: +4; PTS: 6)
2. Universidad de Chile (GP: 3; GD: -2; PTS: 6)
3. Cruzeiro (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 3)
4. Real Garcilaso (GP: 3; GD: -3; PTS: 3)



Group Six:

At Medellin, Colombia:

Daniel Bocanegra scored twice late in the second half (70', 90'+1) as Atletico Nacional battled back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 home draw with Club Nacional of Uruguay.  Carlos De Pena (3') and Santiago Garcia (18') each scored once for the visitors.



Group Seven:

At Guayaquil, Ecuador:

Luis Escalada scored twice (15', 60') as Club Sport Emelec defeated visiting Club Leon 2-1.



Group Eight:

At Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela:

Manuel Arteaga's equalizer in the 71st minute enabled Deportivo Anzoategui to salvage a 1-1 home draw with Santos Laguna.  Oribe Peralta scored for the Mexican club in the 62nd minute.
