Copa Libertadores

Wednesday saw five Copa Libertadores group-stage contests.

Group Two:

At Buenos Aires:

Gustavo Canales' equalizer in the 83rd minute lifted Union Espanola to a 1-1 road deadlock with San Lorenzo.  Mauro Matos scored in the 20th minute for the hosts.

At Sangolqui, Ecuador:

Junior Sornoza scored the winning goal in the 90th minute as Independiente del Valle defeated visiting Botafogo.

GROUP TWO STANDINGS:

1. Botafogo (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 4)
2. Independiente del Valle (GP: 3; GD: 0; PTS: 4)
3. San Lorenzo (GP: 3; GD: -1; PTS: 4)

Group Four:

At Barinas, Venezuela:

Juan Manuel Falcon scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 83rd minute as Zamora FC held off visiting Independiente Santa Fe 2-1.

At Ciudad del Este, Paraguay:

Silvio Torales' successful penalty kick in the 86th minute enabled Club Nacional of Paraguay to salvage a 2-2 home draw with Atletico Mineiro.  Marcos Melgarejo scored for the hosts in the eighth minute.  Josue Anunciado de Oliveira (21') and Jo (26') provided the scoring for the visiting defending champs.

GROUP FOUR STANDINGS:

2. Club Nacional (Paraguay) (GP: 3; GD: -1; PTS: 4)
3. Independiente Santa Fe (GP: 3; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

Group Seven:

At Rio de Janeiro:

Goals from Jose Luis Capdevila (52') and Ricardo Pedriel (72') carried Club Bolivar to a 2-2 road draw with Flamengo.  Everton Cardoso da Silva scored twice (54', 65') for the hosts.

GROUP SEVEN STANDINGS:
