CAF Champions League: First Round Opens

Nine games were contested on Saturday as the first round of the CAF Champions League commenced.

At Pretoria, South Africa:

Mamelodi Sundowns  in game one of their two-match series, blanked visiting AC Leopards from the Republic of the Congo 2-0.

At Casablanca, Morocco:

Wydad Casablanca demolished visiting CNaPS Sport (Madagascar) 5-1 in their series opener

At Bamako, Mali:

Stade Malien took the opening match of their series with Cameroon's Coton Sport 2-0 at home.

At Ndola, Zambia:

ZESCO United dominated visiting Horoya AC from Guinea 4-0 in the opening contest of the clubs' two-game series.

At Kigali, Rwanda:

Tanzania's Young Africans knocked off hosts APR 2-1 in their series opener.

At Calulo, Angola:

Egyptian powerhouse Al-Ahly held hosts Recreativo do Libolo to a series-opening 0-0 stalemate.

At Johannesburg, South Africa:

ASEC Mimonas from Ivory Coast knocked off Kaiser Chiefs 1-0 on the road in game one.

At Tunis, Tunisia:

In a contest played in Tunisia due to security concerns in Libya, Al-Ahli Tripoli defeated visiting Al-Hilal Omdurman from Sudan 1-0 in game one.

At Rades, Tunisia:

Club Africain posted a 1-0 series-opening home victory over MO Bejaia from Algeria.
