MLS: Philly Smothers Reds; Late Equalizer Gain Home Draw For DCU With Rapids; Home Win For 10-Man SKC

Three contests took place in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

C.J. Sapong scored twice (18', 33') as the Philadelphia Union dominated the visiting ten-man New England Revolution 3-0 in their home opener (at newly-renamed Talen Energy Stadium).

At Washington:

Fabian Espindola's equalizer in the 80th minute lifted DC United to a 1-1 home draw with Colorado.  Dillon Powers scored for the Rapids in the 69th minute.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Brad Davis scored his first goal for his new club in the 70th minute as Sporting Kansas City, despite finishing the game with ten men, defeated visiting Toronto FC 1-0.
