CONCACAF Champions League: Club America, Tigres Advance To Semis; Mexican Clubs Complete Sweep Of US Clubs

The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League wrapped up on Wednesday with two games.

At Mexico City:

Carlos Quintero (42'), Oribe Peralta (45'+1), and Andreas Andrade (50') each scored a goal as Club America defeated the visiting Seattle Sounders 3-1 in game two and ousted the MLS club 5-3 on aggregate.

At Sandy, Utah:

Andre-Pierre Gignac scored in the opening minute of second-half stoppage time as Tigres gained a 1-1 game-two road draw with Real Salt Lake and took their series 3-1 on aggregate.

For the third straight year, no US-based clubs advanced to the semifinal round.

Queretaro vs. UANL Tigres

The semifinals will open on March 15-17, with the return contests slated for April 5-7.
