Sepp's Suggestion For MLS
Regardless of what the president of FIFA thinks, as long as there are still a few Major League Soccer clubs playing their home games in NFL or college football stadiums, it may be some time before such an idea can be enacted.
It also could mean not only outright competition with pro and college football, but the NBA, college basketball, and the NHL as well.

No Premiership Telecasts In UK On Setanta Sports
Having failed to meet a 5PM local time (9 AM Pacific Time) deadline to pay the first installment on a roughly $49 Million fee to the English Premier League for their part of the television rights to air EPL games this coming season, Setanta Sports have lost their right to carry Premiership contests in the United Kingdom.
Also, the deal that would have resulted in Russian-born American industrialist Len Blavatnik buying a 51% share in Setanta Sports fell through.
Becasue of a separate deal to carry EPL games here in the States, it looks like Premiership contests will still air this coming season on Setanta Sports here in this country.

After trail 1-0 at halftime (thanks to Landon Donovan's successful penalty kick at 41 minutes), Italy scored three times in the second half to overtake the ten-man United States 3-1. Giuseppe Rossi---yes, New Jersey-born Guiseppe Rossi, scored twice (58', 90'+4) for the Azzurri, while Daniele De Rossi scored the winning goal at 71 minutes.
