AFC CL: Al-Shabab, Seongnam, Zob Ahan, Al-Hilal Take Quarterfinal Openers

The AFC Champions League's quarterfinal round commenced on Wednesday with four games.

At Jeonju, South Korea:

Fahad Al Yamani (68') and Juan Manuel Olivera (90') each scored a goal at Al-Shabab took the opening match of their two-game series with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-0 on the road.

At Seongnam, South Korea:

Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma overpowered visiting---and fellow South Korean club---Suwon Samsung Bluewings 4-1 in their series opener.  Dzenan Rodoncic scored twice (8', 66') for the hosts.


At Isfahan, Iran:

Igor Castro (18') and Mehdi Rajabzadeh (PK-76') each scored once as Zob Ahan Esfahan FC defeated the visiting Pohang Steelers 2-1 in game one.


At Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

Mohammad Al-Shalhoub (13'), Ahmed Al-Fraidi (59'), and Waleed Al-Gizani (85') each tallied a goal as Al-Hilal bopped visiting Al-Gharafa 3-0 in match one of their two-game set.
