UCL Group D: Rubin Kazan Hold Barca To Draw; Lions Top Panathinaikos To Climb Atop Group D

Two games were played on Wednesday in Group D of the UEFA Champions League.

At Kazan, Russia:



Rubin Kazan gained a 1-1 home draw with Barcelona, with both goals resulting from successful penalty kicks.  Christian Noboa (pictured here celebrating) made his for the Tatars at 30 minutes, but David Villa made his for Barca at 60 minutes to gain a share of the points for the guests.

At Athens, Greece:



N'Doye Dame (28', that's him saluting the crowd after scoring) and Martin Vingaard (37') provided the goalpower to carry FC Copenhagen to a 2-0 road win over Panathinaikos, allowing the visiting Danish club to climb up to sole possession of first place in Group D.
