UCL Group D: Barca Bounce Back From Shocking Defeat To Roast Panathinaikos; FC Copenhagen Top Rubin Kazan

Tuesday marked the start of Group D play in the UEFA Champions League.

At Barcelona, Spain:



Lionel Messi scored twice (22', 45') as Barcelona, coming off their shocking domestic defeat over the weekend against promoted Hercules, mauled visiting Panathinaikos. Summertime signing David Villa, who scored at 33 minutes for Barca, is shown in this Getty Images snapshot celebrating.

Dame N'Doye scored the only goal of the match at 87 minutes (that's him celebrating in this Associated Press photo) as FC Copenhagen nudged out visiting FK Rubin Kazan 1-0.
