Tony Taylor's opening-minute goal stood up on Wednesday night as the USL's Ottawa Fury took the opening game of their series with AS Blainville of the Quebec Premier Soccer League 1-0 on the road as the second qualifying round of the Canadian Championship tournament commenced.
The series will conclude next Wednesday in Ottawa, with the winner advancing to the semifinal round----and a two-game series with defending champions Toronto FC of Major League Soccer.
