In Wednesday's second match of the opening round of Canadian Championship qualifying, Diyaeddine Abzi scored the game's lone goal in the 46th minute as AS Blainville of the Quebec Premier Soccer League defeated the Oakville Blue Devils of the Ontario 1 League 1-0 on the road to win the series 3-1 on aggregate.
Next up for AS Blainville, a two-match series with the Ottawa Fury of the United Soccer League, opening in Laval, Quebec next Wednesday.
The winner of that series will face defending champions Toronto FC in the semifinal round.
This tournament will determine Canada's lone entry in the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League.
