Miranda scored the winning goal in overtime (98') as Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid 2-1 on Friday to win the final of the Copa del Rey tournament, Spain equivalent to England's FA Cup. The victory netted the Mattress Makers their tenth such championship. Atletico, who would have otherwise qualified for the Europa League's group stage for next season, instead already clinched a group-stage berth for the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League (alongside Los Galacticos and Barcelona).
