MLS: Kaka's Late Equalizer Gains Home Draw For Lions In Matchup Of Expansion Clubs; SKC, Red Bulls Battle To 1-1 Draw; Sounders Dominate Visiting Revs

The opening weekend of the Major League Soccer season concluded on Sunday with three games.

At Orlando, Florida:

In the first MLS game to take place in Florida (and the Confederacy outside Texas) since 2001, and played in front of 62,510 fans, Kaka delivered the equalizer in the first minute of second-half stoppage time as ten-man Orlando City gained a 1-1 home draw with New York City FC in a meeting of the league's new expansion clubs, both playing their inaugural contests.  Mix Diskerud scored for the visitors in the 76th minute.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Lloyd Sam's equalizer in the 54th minute lifted the New York Red Bulls to a 1-1 road draw with Sporting Kansas City.  Ike Opara scored in the 50th minute for the hosts, who finished the match with ten men.

At Seattle:

Clint Dempsey scored twice (PK-25', 67') and Obafemi Martins once (41') as the Seattle Sounders dominated the visiting New England Revolution 3-0.
