In the opener, Andy Najar's equalizer in the 81st minute lifted Honduras to a 1-1 draw with Panama. Luis Tejada scored for the Canal Men in the 21st minute.
In the nightcap, Clint Dempsey scored the only goal of the match in the 47th minute as the United States locked up first place in Group A and a berth in the quarterfinal round by holding off Haiti 1-0.
