In the lone Friday Major League Soccer contest, Robbie Keane delivered a hat trick (PK-30', 64', PK-80') while Steven Gerard, in his MLS debut, scored in the 37th minute, and Sebastian Lletget closed out the scoring (90'+1) as the Los Angeles Galaxy overcame a 2-0 deficit by scoring five unanswered goals as they thumped the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 5-2. Quincy Amerikwa scored both of the Quakes' goals three minutes apart (22', 25').
