UEFA Champions League

The second round of UEFA Champions League qualifying commenced on Tuesday with the opening game of each of 12 two-match series.

At Ventspils, Latvia:

Ousman Jallow scored the winning goal in the 86th minute as HJK Helsinki took the opening contest of their series with FK Ventspils 3-1 on the road.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

FK Fardar held hosts APOEL FC to a series-opening 0-0 stalemate.

At Heming, Denmark:

Morten Rasmussen scored the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute as FC Midtjylland defeated visiting Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 in match one of their two-game series.

At Razgrad, Bulgaria:

Alexandru Antoniuc scored the only goal of Milsami Orhei's series-opening 1-0 road win over Ludogorets Razgrad in the 41st minute.

At Paola, Malta:

Jorginho (74') and Jackson Lima (85') each scored a second-half goal as Hibernians took the opening match of their series with Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-1.  Nose Igiebor scored for the Israeli club in the 22nd minute, keeping the guests alive in the two-game set.

At Molde, Norway:

Mohamed Elyounoussi (35', 44') and Ola Kamara (84', 90'+2) each scored twice as Molde FK all but assured a spot in the third qualifying round after destroying visiting FC Pyunik 5-0 in their series opener.

At Korce, Albania:

Hamdi Salihi scored twice (34', 83') as Skenderbeu Korce dominated the opening match of their series with Crusaders FC 4-1 at home.

At Oswestry, England:

Adam Gyurcso scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute as Videoton knocked off The New Saints 1-0 on the road in the opening contest of their series.

At Maribor, Slovenia:

Marko Suler's goal in the fifth minute held up as NK Maribor took the opening match of their series with Astana with a 1-0 home victory.

At Zilina, Slovakia:

Nicolae Stanciu (63') and Jugurtha Hamroun (70') each scored a goal as Steaua Bucharest took their series opener with Trencin 2-0 on the road.

At Belgrade, Serbia:

Stefan Babovic scored the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute as Partizan Belgrade took game one with Dila Gori 1-0 at home.

At Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Kasper Hamalainen (40') and Denis Thomalla (62') each scored a goal as Lech Poznan took the opening contest with FK Sarajevo 2-0 on the road.
