Europa League Qualifying: AIK, Dynamo Minsk, FC Vaduz, Aberdeen Advance; Hammers Survive PK Shootout In Malta

The second round of Europa League qualifying concluded on Thursday with 32 games.

At Gyumri, Armenia:

Henok Goitom (14') and ex-Los Angeles Galaxy player Stefan Ishizaki (25') each scored a second goal as AIK posted a second 2-0 victory over FC Shirak, this time on the road, en route to a 4-0 aggregate series victory over the Armenian club.

At Yerevan, Armenia:

Ararat Arakelyan (28') and Heber dos Santos (90'+4) each scored once as Alashkert posted a second 2-1 victory over visiting Kairat en route to a 4-2 series win on aggregate.

At Minsk, Belarus:

Fatos Beciraj scored twice (86', 90'+2) Dinamo Minsk demolished visiting Cherno More Varna 4-0 in game two and finished off their Bulgarian opponents 5-1 on aggregate.

At Debrecen, Hungary:

Tibor Tisza (7', 45'+2) and Ibrahima Sidide (29', 32') each scored twice in the first half as Debreceni VSC annihilated visiting Skonto FC 9-2 in game two and finished their two-game fist-beating of the Latvian club 11-4 on aggregate.  And all this after a 2-2 series-opening draw in Latvia.

At Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Zoran Kokot (23') and Ognjen Delmic (90'+1) produced the goals as FK Zeljeznicar Sarajevo blanked visiting Ferencvaros 2-0 in game two and closed out the Hungarian club 3-0 on aggregate.

At Tallinn, Estonia:

Mauro Andres (Don't Call Me Guy) Caballero (59') and Naser Aliji (74') delivered the goals as FC Vaduz blanked Nomme Kalju 2-0 on the road in game two and won the series 3-0 on aggregate.

At Jelgava, Latvia:

Saleta Kordic scored in the 86th minute as Vojvodina gained a 1-1 game-two road draw with Spartaks Jurmala, more than good enough for the Serbian club who won their series 4-1 on aggregate.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Cillian Sheridan scored the only goal of both the match and the series in the eighth minute as Omonia defeated visiting Jagiellonia Bialystok 1-0 in game two and took out the Polish club by that same score on aggregate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Sergei Zenjov scored twice (39', 53') as Gabala FK overcame their series opening road defeat with a 2-0 game-two win over visiting Cukaricki and ousted the Serbian club 2-1 on aggregate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

After FH Hafnarfjordur took game two 2-1 in regulation, squaring the series at 2-2 on aggregate, Rauf Aliyev scored the series-winning overtime goal in the 91st minute as Inter Baku ousted the visiting Icelandic club 4-3 on aggregate.

At Thessaloniki, Greece:

Robert Mak scored twice (7', 84') as PAOK overcame their series-opening defeat by destroying visiting Lokomotiva Zagreb 6-0 in game two and won their series 7-2 on aggregate.

At Dublin, Ireland:

Robert Vittek delivered a hat trick (41', 81', 90'+13) as Slovan Bratislava demolished University College Dublin AFC 5-1 on the road in game two and finished off the Irish club 6-1 on aggregate.

At Brondby, Denmark:

A 0-0 draw in game two at home against Beroe Stara Zagora was good enough for Brondby as the Danish club won their series 1-0 on aggregate.

At Trondheim, Norway:

Fredrik Midtsjo (4'), Pal Helland (7'), and Alexander Soderlund (18') each scored a goal in the first twenty minutes as Rosenborg dominated visiting KR Reykjavik 3-0 in game two and ousted the Icelandic club 4-0 on aggregate.

At Botosani, Romania:

Guilherme Costa Marques (7'), Nemanja Nikolic (38'), and Aleksandar Prijovic (84') each scored a goal as Legia Warsaw dominated FC Botosani 3-0 on the road in game two and wrapped up their series 4-0 on aggregate.

At Skien, Norway:

Ole Jorgen Halvorsen (72') and Steffen Hagen (86') each scored once as Odds BK defeated visiting Shamrock Rovers 2-1 and eliminated the Irish club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Differdange, Luxembourg:

Salih Dursun (19') and Soner Aydogdu (90'+3) delivered the goals as Trabzonspor defeated Differdange 03 by a score of 2-1 on the road in game two and ousted the Luxembourgian club 3-1 on aggregate.

At Jerusalem, Israel:

Neeskins Kebano opened the scoring for Charleroi in the 43rd minute as the Belgian club belted Beitar Jerusalem 4-1 on the road in game two and ousted the Israeli club 9-2 on aggregate.

At Drammen, Norway:

Despite a 1-0 game-two home defeat to FK Mlada Boleslav, Stromgodset, with the aggregate score at 2-2, advanced on away goals.

At Vilnius, Lithuania:

A 0-0 game-two road stalemate with Trakai was more than good enough for Apollon Limassol as the Cypriot club ousted the Lithuanian club 4-0 on aggregate.

At Split, Croatia:

Four different goal scorers---starting with Tomislav Kis in the second minute----each tallied once as Hajduk Split overturned their series-opening defeat in Slovenia with a 4-1 game-two domination of FC Koper and took the series 6-4 on aggregate.

At Gothenburg, Sweden:

Thanks to goals from Gustav Engvall (55') and Mikael Boman (59'), IFK Gothenburg blanked visiting Slask Wroclaw 2-0 in game two and took the series by that same score on aggregate.

At Zilina, Slovakia:

MSK Zilina, with Denis Vavro (15'), Miroslav Kacer (50'), Michal Skvarka (62'), and Jakub Paur (85') each scoring once, doubled up Dacia Chisinau 4-2 in game two and won their series 6-3 on aggregate.

At Thun, Switzerland:

A 2-1 home win for FC Thun enabled them to eliminate Hapoel Be'er Shava 3-2 on aggregate. Nelson Ferreira scored twice (40', 72') for the hosts.

At Newtown, Wales:

FC Copenhagen, with Marvin Pourie scoring twice (28', 51'),  defeated Newtown AFC 3-1 on the road in game two and took care of the Welsh club 5-1 on aggregate.

At Skopje, Macedonia:

Baze Ilijoski (6') and Suad Sahiti (17') delivered the goalpower as FC Rabotnicki overturned their series-opening road defeat with a 2-0 home blanking of FK Jelgava and ousted the Latvian club 2-1 on aggregate.

At Giurgiu, Romania:

A 0-0 home draw against Inverness CT was good enough for FC Astra Giurgiu as the Romanian club won their series 1-0 on aggregate.

At Podgorica, Montenegro:

FK Kukesi, with Pero Pejic scoring twice (19', 72'),  overturned their series-opening home defeat with a 4-2 game-two road win over FK Mladost Podgorica and eliminated the Montenegrin club 4-3 on aggregate.

At Klagenfurt, Austria:

A 2-0 game-two victory for Wolfsberger AC, thanks to goals from Michael Sollbauer (19') and Phillipp Hellquist (90'), enabled the Austrian club to eliminated visiting FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk 3-0 on aggregate. 

At Aberdeen, Scotland:

A 2-2 game-two home deadlock with HNK Rijeka was good enough for Aberdeen as the Dons took care of the Croatian club 5-2 on aggregate.  The hosts erased a two-goal deficit in the match courtesy of goals from Niall McGinn (64') and Jonathan Hayes (72').

At Ta' Qali, Malta:

After Fabrizio Miccoli goal in the 15th minute enabled hosts Birkirkira to take game two in regulation 1-0 over West Ham United to square the series at 1-1 on aggregate, the Hammers (after 30 scoreless overtime minutes),  with Mark Noble, Mauro Zarate, Aaron Cresswell, Joey O'Brien, and Diego Poyet all converting their spot kicks, won the penalty-kick shootout 5-3 and advanced to the third qualifying round.

At Belfast, Northern Ireland:

FC Spartak Trnava, with Erik Sabo scoring twice (54', 84') defeated Linfield 3-1 on the road in game two and eliminated the Northern Irish club 5-2 on aggregate.
