CALEDONIA AIA WINS CFU CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ON PENALTY KICKS

At San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago:


After 90 scoreless minutes and after each team (Radanfah Abu Bakr for Caledonia AIA in the 98th minute, Clyde Leon for W Connection in the 106th) scored once during overtime, Caledonia AIA won the penalty-kick shootout 4-3 and won the CFU Club Championship on Thursday.  Both Trinidadian clubs qualified for the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League.


Earlier Thursday, in the third-place playoff, Josh Hansen (19') and Jonathan Fana (PK-52') each scored a goal as the Puerto Rico Islanders defeated Antigua Barracuda 2-0 and also clinched a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League.


Caledonia AIA will be in Group Five in the CONCACAF Champions League's group stage alongside the Seattle Sounders and CD Marathon of Honduras.


W Connection will be in Group Eight along with Club Xelaju MC of Guatemala and Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara.


The Puerto Rico Islanders will join the Los Angeles Galaxy and AD Isidro Metapan of El Salvador in Group Five.
