EURO 2012: Comeback Win For England (Sweden Eliminated As Result); France Blanks Ukraine In Weather-Delayed Match In Donetsk

The second cycle of group-stage games in the European Championship concluded with two Group D contests played on Friday in Ukraine.


At Donetsk:

In a match that was suspended in the fifth minute due to heavy rainfall and a thunderstorm, only to resume 55 minutes later, Jeremy Menez (53') and Yohan Cabaye (56', shown here, beating goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov) each scored a goal as France blanked Ukraine 2-0.


At Kiev:


Dany Welbeck


Andy Carroll (23'), Theo Walcott (64'), and Danny Welbeck (78') each scored a goal as England came back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat and eliminate Sweden 3-2.
