OFC Champions League: Pirae Defeat Waitakere United To Win Group A Title And Semifinal Berth; Auckland City In Semis Too

Group-stage play in the OFC Champions League concluded on Tuesday with two Group A contests played at Churchill Park, Lautoka, Fiji.

In the opener, Micah Lea'alafa delivered a quadruple (8', 20', 26', 89') as Solomon Warriors destroyed Kiwi FC 8-0.

In the group-stage finale, Raimana Li Fung Kuee (1'), Naea Bennett (17'), and Jimmy Tepa (90'+2) provided the scoring as AS Pirae defeated Waitakere United 3-1 to finish atop Group A and advance to the semifinal round.  With the Waitakere United defeat, Group B runners-up Auckland City advanced to the semifinals as the wild-card team.

FINAL GROUP A STANDINGS:

1. AS Pirae (GP: 3; GD: +11; PTS: 9)
2. Solomon Warriors (GP: 3; GD: +7; PTS: 4)
3. Waitakere United (GP: 3; GD: 0; PTS: 4)
4. Kiwi FC (GP: 3; GD: -18; PTS: 0)

AS Pirae won Group A and advanced to the semifinal round.  All other clubs in the group were eliminated.

Ba FC vs. Amicale FC

Auckland City vs. AS Pirae

The opening contests are scheduled for April 26-27, with the return matches set for May 3-4.
