AFC Champions League

Seven games were played on Tuesday as the AFC Champions League's second preliminary round was staged.

East Asia Zone:

At Hanoi, Vietnam:

Gonzalo Marronkle (PK-34', 57') and Hoang Vu Samson (47', 71') each scored twice as Hanoi T&T FC blew out visiting Persib Bandung (Indonesia) 4-0.

At Guangzhou, China:

Jiang Zhipeng (52'), Jang Hyun-Soo (59'), and Zhang Shou (74') each scored a second-half goal as Guangzhou R&F broke open a scoreless stalemate and ended up dominating Warriors FC (Singapore) 3-0.

At Mueang Chonburi, Thailand:

Leandro Assumpcao delivered a hat trick (8', 38', 55') as Chonburi FC dominated visiting Kitchee SC from Hong Kong 3-0.

At Thanyaburi, Thailand:

Lazarus Kaimbi scored twice (52', 62') as Bangkok Glass FC blanked visiting Johor Darul Za'zim from Malaysia 3-0.



West Asia Zone:

At Doha, Qatar:

Romario Ricardo da Silva---a.k.a. Romarinho---scored the winning goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time as El Jaish came from behind to defeat visiting Al-Nahda from Oman 2-1.

At Kuwait City, Kuwait:

Dhari Said Abdullah scored the only goal of Al-Qadsia's 1-0 home win over Al-Wehdat (Jordan).

At Doha, Qatar:

After 120 scoreless minutes, Khalfan Ibrahim converted his second successful spot kick for the game-winner as Al-Sadd won the penalty-kick shootout 11-10 in 12 rounds over Al-Riffa from Bahrain. Ozia De-Pola failed on both spot-kick attempts, including one that would have tied the shootout in the 12th round.



Matchups for the playoff round, with all games to be played next Tuesday, with the winners advancing to the group stage:

East Asia Zone:

At Gosford, New South Wales, Australia:

Central Coast Mariners (Australia) vs. Guangzhou R&F (China), with the winner advancing to Group F and joining the likes of Gamba Osaka, Seongnam FC (South Korea), and Buriram United FC (Thailand)

At Kashiwa, Japan:

Kashiwa Reysol (Japan) vs. Chonburi FC (Thailand), with the winner joining Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (South Korea), Shandong Luneng Taishan FC (China), and Becamex Binh Duong FC (Vietnam) in Group E

At Beijing, China:

Beijing Guoan (China) vs. Bangkok Glass FC (Thailand), with the winner joining the Brisbane Roar (Australia), Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), and Suwon Samsung Bluewings (South Korea) in Group G

At Seoul, South Korea:

FC Seoul (South Korea) vs. Hanoi T&T FC (Vietnam), with the winner joining Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC (China), the Western Sydney Wanderers (Australia), and Kashima Antlers (Japan) in Group H



West Asia Zone:

At Tashkent, Uzbekistan:

FC Bunyodkor (Uzbekistan) vs. Al-Jazira (United Arab Emirates), with the winner advancing to Group A, joining Al-Nassr FC (Saudi Arabia), Lekhwiya SC (Qatar), and Persepolis FC (Iran)

At Tehran, Iran:

Naft Tehran (Iran) vs. El Jaish (Qatar), with the winner joining Pakhtakor Tashkent FC (Uzbekistan), Al-Shabab (Saudi Arabia), and Al-Ain (United Arab Emirates) in Group B

At Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates:

Al-Wahda (United Arab Emirates) vs. Al-Sadd (Qatar), with the winner joining Foolad FC (Iran), Lokomotiv Tashkent FK (Uzbekistan), and Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) in Group C

At Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:

Al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia) vs. Al-Qadsia (Kuwait), with the winner advancing to Group D to be joined by Al-Ahli (United Arab Emirates), Tractor Sazi FC (Iran), and FC Nasaf Qarshi (Uzbekistan)
