CAF Champions League: Preliminary Round Starts

Three games were played on Friday as the CAF Champions League's preliminary round commenced.

At Tunis, Tunisia:

Mohamed Al Ghanodi's successful penalty kick in the 49th minute as Al-Ahli Tripoli took the opening match of their two-game series with Smouha Sporing Club of Egypt 1-0.  The match was played in Tunisia due to security concerns in Libya.

At Casablanca, Morocco:

Kouko Guehi (10'), Christian Osaguona (70'), and Adil Karrouchi (89') each scored a goal as Raja Casablanca demolished visiting  CSM Diablies Noirs (Republic of the Congo) 4-0 in game one of their two-match series.

At Bamako, Mali:

City Olympique de Bamako blanked visiting Moghreb Tetouan from Morocco 2-0 in the opening match of their two-game series. 



The series between East End Lions from Sierra Leone and Asante Kotoko of Ghana was cancelled as the club from Sierra Leone withdrew.  Asante Kotoko advanced to the first round by default.
