In Monday's opening contest of the quarterfinal round of the US Open Cup tournament, Chris Wondolowski scored twice (16', 51') and Danny Hoesen once (62') as the San Jose Earthquakes advanced to the tournament's semifinal round for the first time since 2004 by knocking off the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2.
