Copa Libertadores: Corinthians Clinch Berth In Knockout Stage; Flamengo Loss Puts Universidad de Chile Into Sweet Sixteen

Group stage play in the Copa Libertadores continued Wednesday with three games.

Group One:

At Montevideo, Uruguay:

Dentinho (33') and Elias (87') provided the goalpower as Corinthians clinched a berth in the knockout stage (and claimed the Group One title) with a 2-0 road win over Racing Club de Montevideo.

Internacional held hosts Club Sport Emelec to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Santiago, Chile:

Universidad Catolica stayed alive for a berth in the knockout stage with a 2-0 home win over Flamengo.  This result locked up a berth in the Round of 16 (and the Group Eight title) for Universidad de Chile.  Damian Diaz (2') and Francisco Silva (45') each delivered a goal for the hosts.
