Copa Libertadores: Corinthians, Once Caldas, and Deportivo Quito Pick Up Wins

Three more games were contested in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores on Thursday.

Group One:

At Sao Paulo, Brazil:

Goals from Ronaldo (36') and Chicao (63') paced Corinthians to a 2-0 home win over Cerro Porteno.  The defeat eliminated the Paraguayan club from the competition.

At Manizales, Colombia:


John Valencia provided the only goal of the match at 14 minutes as Once Caldas eliminated Club Nacional of Paraguay from the tournament with a  1-0 home win.

At Guayaquil, Ecuador:


In a battle of Ecuadorian clubs, Ivan Hurtado's penalty kick at 90 minutes lifted Deportivo Quito to a 1-0 road win over Club Sport Emelec, eliminating the hosts from the tournament.
