At Guadalajara, Mexico:
Omar Bravo scored twice (25', 78') as Chivas de Guadalajara took a three-points-to-nil lead in their two-game set following their 3-0 home domination of Velez Sarsfield.
At San Luis Potosi, Mexico:
Leandro Gonzalez scored the game's only goal at 24 minutes as Estudiantes took game one 1-0 on the road over San Luis.
