2010 FIFA World Cup, Quarterfinal Round: Germans Smash Argentina; David Villa Goal Sends Spain To Semis

The quarterfinal round of the FIFA World Cup concluded with two games on Saturday.

At Cape Town:

Miroslav Klose scored twice (68', 89') as Germany eliminated Argentina in the World Cup quarterfinals for the second straight time, this time manhandling the South American country 4-0.  Pictured here is Thomas Mueller, wearing number 13 and mobbed by teammates, after opening scoring for the Germans in the 3rd minute.

At Johannesburg:

David Villa scored the only goal of the match at 83 minutes (that's him, left, celebrating with Cesc Fabergas) as Spain defeated Paraguay 1-0 to reach the semifinal round for the first time ever.

Spain will take on Germany on Wednesday at Durban, with the winner to play in the July 11 final against the Netherlands-Uruguay winner.
