CONCACAF CL: Marathon and Sounders Take Series Openers; Joe Public and Brujas Draw In Costa Rica

Three more games were played on Wednesday night as the opening week of the qualifying round for the CONCACAF Champions League continued.

At Panama City, Panama:

Claudio Labarinas scored twice (24', 59') CD Marathon from Honduras defeated Tauro FC 3-2 on the road in game one.

At Heredia, Costa Rica:

Kerry Baptiste (13') and Trent Noel (90'+1) each scored once as Joe Public FC gained a 2-2 road draw in game one with Brujas FC.  The Costa Rican club got their goals from Andres Nunez (2') and Jose Cordero (66').

At Seattle:


Fredy Montero scored the only goal of the match at 60 minutes as the Seattle Sounders defeated visiting Salvadorian club AD Isidro Metapan 1-0 in game one.
