Europa League: First Qualifying Round Concludes

The first qualifying round for the 2010-11 Europa League concluded on Thursday as the various two-game total-goals series all came to a close.

At Yerevan, Armenia:

Vincent Laban scored the only goal of the match at 37 minutes as Anorthosis Famagusta FC defeated FC Banants 1-0 in game two on the road and took the two-game series 4-0 on aggregate.

At Kaunas, Lithuania:

After Llanelli FC from Wales (with Chris Llewellyn scoring at 19' and Jason Bowen scoring at 36') and FK Tauras Taurage (with both goals scored by Syarhey Irha at 17 and 31 minutes) battled to a 2-2 draw in the second game, and with the two-game series evenly deadlocked at 4-4 on aggregate, Darius Regelskis scored the series winner in overtime (104') as the Lithuanian club took the series 5-4 on aggregate.

At Skopje, Macedonia:

A 1-1 game-two draw on the road was more than good enough for FK Qarabag as the Azerbaijani club won their two-match set with Metalurg Skopje 5-2 on aggregate.  Emin Imamaliev scored for the visitors at 69 minutes.

At Niksic, Montenegro:

FK Mogren had little if any trouble at home with UE Santa Coloma in game two, winning the game 2-0 and winning the two-game set 5-0 on aggregate. Danilo Culafic (18') and Vladimir Gluscevic (20') each tallied within roughly two minutes in the first half for the Montenegrin club.

At Ta'Qali, Malta:

HNK Sibenik, after being held to a scoreless home draw last week, and a scoreless first half in game two, erupted for three goals in the second half---Ivan Medvid (64'), Antonio Jakolis (73'), and Ante Bulat (89')---defeated Sliema Wanderers in both the game, and the series on aggregate, 3-0.

At Tallinn, Estonia:

By holding hosts FC Flora Tallinn to a 0-0 stalemate in game two, Dinamo Tbilisi won their two-game series 2-1 on aggregate. 

At Lankaran, Azerbaijan:

Jean-Robens Jerome scored in the 14th minute as FC Olimpia Balti, by settling for a 1-1 road draw with FK Khazar Lankaran, won their two match series on away goals, with the aggregate score at 1-1.

At Tel Aviv, Israel:

Shalev Menashe scored the only goal of both game two and the two-game series (45'+1) as Bnei Yehuda defeated visiting Ulisses FC (Armenia) 1-0 for both the game and the series on aggregate.

At Riga, Latvia:

Richard Lecky scored the only goal of the match at 29 minutes as Portadown FC defeated Skonto FC 1-0 in game two, enabling the Northern Irish club to take the two-game set 2-1 on aggregate.

At Anjalankoski, Finland:

Ilari Aijala scored twice (67', 74') as part of a five-goal scoring barrage, with all the goals scored during a 20-minute stretch of the second half, as MYPA blasted visiting FC Narva Trans 5-0 in game two and won the two-game series 7-0 on aggregate.

At Mogilev, Belarus:

Vladimir Yurchenko's hat trick (PK-17', 56', 81') and Alyaksandr Bychanok's double (10', 80') helped FC Dnepr Mogilev annihilate visiting KF Laci 7-1 in game two and finish off the Albanian club for the series 8-1 on aggregate.

At Dudelange, Luxembourg:

Despite dropping a 2-1 decision in game two on the road against F91 Dudlange, Denmark's Randers FC still won their two-game series 7-3 on aggregate.  Kasper Lorentzen scored for the guests at 17 minutes.

At Chisinau, Moldova:

A 0-0 home deadlock in game two against FK Zeta enabled FC Dacia Chisinau, with the aggregate score for the two games at 1-1, win their two-match set with their Montenegrin opposition on the away goals rule.



At Gyor, Hungary:

Rati Aleksidze (22'), Mihai Nicorec (60'), and Tarmo Kink (90'+2) each scored a goal as Gyori ETO FC defeated visiting FC Nitra 3-1 in game two and won their two-game series 5-3 on aggregate.

At Zalaegerszeg, Hungary:

After the regulation portion of game two finished like game one, a 0-0 stalemate, Erindo Karabeci, in overtime, scored the only goal of the series in the 107th minute as KF Tirana defeated hosts Zalaegerszeg TE 1-0 on aggregate.

At Solna, Sweden:

Daniel Bernhardsson (22') and Hans Berggren (63') each contributed a goal as Gefle IF won game two 2-1 over visiting NSI Runavik and took the two-match series 4-1 on aggregate.

At Andorra la Vella, Andorra:

Fabio do Nascimento Silva's hat trick (33', 42', 54') and Wandeir's double (25', 68') helped lift Macedonia's FK Rabotnicki to a 6-0 road brass knuckling of Lusitanos in game two and an overwhelming 11-0 win over the Andorran club on aggregate.

At Port Talbot, Wales:

Babatunde Wusu (26'), Toni Kolehmainen (32'), Riku Riski (69'), and Roope Riski (90'+1) each scored once as TPS blindsided Port Talbot Town FC 4-0 on the road in game two and too the two-game series 7-1 on aggregate.

At Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina:

Damir Dzidic (10') and Mile Pehar (72') each tallied once as HSK Zrinjski Mostar registered a second successive 2-1 win, this time at home, over FC Tobol and won their two-game series with the club from Kazakhstan 4-2 on aggregate.

At Dundalk, Ireland:

Thanks to goals from Neale Fenn (PK-5') and Fahrudin Kudozovic (16'), Dundalk FC took game two at home over CS Grevenmacher 2-1 and won the series 5-4 on aggregate.

At Toftir, Faroe Islands:

Kalmar FF defeated EB/Streymur 3-0 on the road in game two and won the two-match set 4-0 on aggregate.  The visiting club from Sweden got goals courtesy of Erik Israelsson (9'), Tobias Eriksson (47'), and Ricardo Santos (50').

At Siroki Brijeg, Bosnia-Herzegovina:

Goals in the last ten or so minutes from Mateo Roskam (81'), Ivor Weitzer (83') and Hrvoje Misic (90'+3) carried NK Siroki Brijeg to a 3-0 home win in game two over NK Olimpija Ljubljana and took out the Slovenian club 5-0 on aggregate for the two-game series.

At Serravalle, San Marino:

A 0-0 road stalemate in game two against SC Faetano proved way more than enough for FC Zestaponi as the Georgian club took the two-game series 5-0 on aggregate.

At Belfast, Northern Ireland:

A 2-2 draw on the road against Glentoran FC was more than enough for KR Reykjavik as the Icelandic club took the two-game series 5-2 on aggregate.  Kjartan Finnbogason scored for the guests near the end of the first half (45'+1)

At Chorzow, Poland:

Artur Sobiech scored the only goal of the match at 59 minutes as Ruch Chorzow blanked visiting Shakhter Karaganda 1-0 in game two and won the two-match set 3-1 on aggregate.

At Reykjavik, Iceland:

Yuri Ostroukh (41') and Ihor Kryvobok (PK-86', 88') provided the goals that powered FC Torpedo Zhodino to a 3-1 road win in game two over Fylkir, enabling the club from Belarus to win their two-game series 6-1 on aggregate.
