UCL QR3: Flying Starts For Anderlecht and Dynamo Kiev; Sparta Prague Also Game-One Winners

The third qualifying round for the 2010-11 UEFA Champions League commenced on Tuesday with the opening games of six two-game sets.

Champions Path:

At Nicosia, Cyprus: 

Lomana LuaLua's penalty kick in second-half stoppage time (90'+1) enabled AC Omonia to salvage a 1-1 home deadlock in game one with Red Bull Salzburg.  Gonzalo Zarate scored at 6 minutes for the visiting Austrian club. 

At Lovech, Bulgaria:

MSK Zilina gained a 1-1 road draw in their series opener with PFC Litex Lovech.  Tomas Majtan scored at 65 minutes for the visiting Slovakian club, but Tom (a.k.a. Wellington Brito da Silva) equalized for Lovech at 79 minutes.

At Prague, Czech Republic:

Erich Brabec provided the only goal of the match (75') as Sparta Prague blanked visiting Lech Poznan 1-0 in game one of their two-game series.

At Wrexham, Wales:

Sacha Kljestan (7'), Jonathan Legear (18'), and Matias Suarez (73') each scored once as RSC Anderlecht defeated The New Saints 3-1 on the road in the opening contest of their two-match series. 



Non-Champions Path: 

At Kiev, Ukraine:

Andriy Yarmolenko (19'), Andriy Shevchenko (80'), and Roman Zolulya (90'+2) each scored once as Dynamo Kiev dominated  visiting KAA Gent 3-0 in game one.

At Bucharest, Romania:

The opening match between Russia's Zenit Saint Petersburg and FC Unirea Urziceni ended in a 0-0 stalemate
