Six teams advanced to the third qualifying round for next season's UEFA Champions League on Tuesday as their respective two-match series drew to a close.
At Skopje, Macedonia:
Efstathios Aloneftis (15') and Leandro (25') provided the goalpower as AC Omonia completed their two-game domination of FK Renova with a 2-0 road win in game two and a 5-0 two-match triumph on aggregate.
At Torshavn, Faroe, Islands:
Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision on the road, Red Bull Salzburg still handily won their two-game set with HB Torshavn 5-1 on aggregate. The Austrian club will take on Omonia in the third qualifying round with the opening contest of their two-game series next Tuesday in Nicosia, Cyprus.
At Tirana, Albania:
Even with the 1-0 defeat on the road against Dinamo Tirana, FC Sheriff still took their two-game set 3-2 on aggregate.
At Nova Gorica, Slovenia:
Despite dropping game two 3-0 on the road against FC Koper (Enes Handanagic [11'], Ivica Guberac [54'], and Mitja Brulc [PK-78']), Dinamo Zagreb managed to hang on and win their two-game series 5-4 on aggregate. The Croatian champions will take on FC Sheriff in the third qualifying round with the first game to be played next Tuesday at Tiraspol, Moldova.
At Oswestry, England:
The New Saints easily overturned their 1-0 road defeat of last week as they delivered a 4-0 home fist beating to Bohemian FC and took out the Irish club 4-1 on aggregate. Matthew Williams doubled (14', 73') for the hosts. The Saints will take on Belgium's RSC Anderlecht in the third qualifying round with game one to take place next Tuesday at Wrexham, Wales.
At Podgorica, Montenegro:
PFC Litex Lovech had no trouble on the road in game two of their two-match set with FK Rudar Pljevlja as they defeated the Montenegrin club 4-0 to win their two-game series 5-0 on aggregate. Next for Lovech, a third-qualifying-round encounter with the winner of the Birkirkara-MSK Zilini series with Birkirkara leading 1-0 on aggregate after the first match. The first match will take place next Tuesday at Lovech, Bulgaria.
