Europa League: Second Qualifying Round Concludes

The second qualifying round for the 2010-11 Europa League concluded on Thursday as the 40 two-game series came to a close.

At Yrevan, Armenia:

A 0-0 draw on the road against Mika FC was good enough as FK Rabotnicki won their two-game series 1-0 on aggregate.

At Skopje, Macedonia:

Thanks to goals from Evgeni Postnikov (OG-15'), Dimce Ristevski (34'), and Ivica Gligorovski (54'), FK Teteks defeated visiting FK Ventspils 3-1 in game two and took the two-match series by that same score on aggregate.

At Borisov, Belarus:

Ivan Kecojevic scored the only goal of the match at 67 minutes as OFK Belgrade won game two on the road, 1-0 at the expense of FC Torpedo Zhodino and the two-game series 3-2 on aggregate.



At Banska Bystrica, Slovakia:

Despite dropping a 1-0 decision in game two on the road, FC Zestafoni still won their two-game series with FK Dukla Banska Bystrica 3-1 on aggregate.

At Niksic, Montenegro:

Despite dropping a 2-1 game-two decision on the road, Maccabi Tel Aviv still won their two-game series with FK Mogren 3-2 on aggregate.  Haris Medunjanin scored the series winner at 7 minutes for the Israeli club.

At Novi Sad, Serbia:

Vojo Ubiparip (25') and Marko Adamovic (88') provided the scoring as FK Spartak Zlatibor Voda took game two 2-0 over visiting FC Differdange 03 and won the two-game series 5-3 on aggregate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Afran Ismayilov scored the series-winning goal at 83 minutes as FK Qarabag won game two at home over Portadown FC 1-0 and won their two-match series with the club from Northern Ireland 3-2 on aggregate.

At Tbilisi ,Georgia:

Dinamo Tbilisi secured a second 4-2 win over Gefle FF in game two, this time at home, as the Georgian club took the two-game set 4-2 on aggregate. Mate Vatsadze (68') and Nikoloz Pirtskhalava (82') provided the scoring for the hosts.

At Turku, Finland:

Thanks to goals from Reynaldo (51') and Lukas Van Eenoo (86'), Cercle Brugge won game two 2-1 on the road over TPS, and with the score at 2-2 on aggregate, won the two-match set with their Finnish opponents on away goals.

At Dugopolje, Croatia:

Vincent Laban (16') and Cristovao (25') each tallied once in regulation time in game two as Anorthosis Famagusta FC took the second match of their two-game set on the road 2-0 against HNK Sibenik, forcing the series to go to overtime, where Yiannis Okkas scored the series winner (96'), enabling the Cypriot club to win the series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Mogilev, Belarus:

Vladimir Yurchenko scored what turned out to be the series winner at 85 minutes as FC Dnepr Mogilev gained a 1-1 home draw with Stabaek IF and, with the score at 3-3 on aggregate for the two-match series, advanced to the third qualifying round because of the away goals rule.

At Siroki Brijeg, Bosnia-Herzegovina:

Zlatko Junozovic scored the only goal of the match (80') as Austria Vienna took game two on the road, 1-0 over NK Siroki Brijeg and won the two-game series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Jurmala, Latvia:

Baye Djiby Fall scored the series-winning goal at 14 minutes as Molde FK, despite dropping game two 2-1 on the road to FK Jelgava, still, with the score at 2-2 on aggregate, won their two-match set with their Latvian opponents due to the away goals rule.

At Ostrava, Czech Republic:

FC Banik Ostrava, despite being held to a 0-0 home draw in game two, still, thanks to their big win in Georgia last week, still easily won their two-game series with WIT Georgia 6-0 on aggregate.

At Tallinn, Estonia:

Continuing their pattern from last week's beatdown win, Dinamo Minsk demolished JK Sillamae Kalev 5-0 on the road in game two to finish their two-game nuking of their Estonian opponents 10-1 on aggregate.  Andrei Chukhlei scored twice (19', 65') for Dinamo.

At Lviv, Ukraine:

Sergei Zenjov (2'), Artem Fedetskiy (25'), and Borys B. Baranets (69') each tallied once as FC Karpaty Lviv topped visiting KR Reykjavik 3-2 in game two and won their two-game series 6-2 on aggregate.

At Chisinau, Moldova:

Erik Israelsson (12') and Daniel Sobralense (88') provided the scoring that propelled Kalmar FF to a 2-0 road win  in game two over FC Dacia Chisinau and a 2-0 aggregate win for the two-game series.

At Andorra la Vella, Andorra:

Maxim Votinov scored the lone goal of the match at 30 minutes as MYPA defeated UE Sant Julia 1-0 on the road in game two and took the two-match series 4-0 on aggregate.

At Randers, Denmark:

Mikkel Cramer's goal at 42 minutes provided all the game-two scoring as Randers FC defeated visiting ND Gorica 1-0 and won the series with their Slovenian opponents 4-1 on aggregate.

At Tiraspol, Moldova:

Stefan Ishizaki scored the only goal of the match at 60 minutes as IF Elfsborg won game two on the road, 1-0 over FC Iskra-Stal and took the two-game series 3-1 on the road.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Esteban Solari scored twice (18', PK-86') as APOEL FC defeated visiting Tauras 3-1 in game two and took the two-match series 6-1 on aggregate.

At Tirana, Albania:

A 1-1 draw on the road with KF Tirana in game two was more than good enough for FC Utrecht as the Dutch club easily won their two-game series 5-1 on aggregate.  Ricky van Wolfswinkel scored in the 3rd minute for the guests.

At Tel Aviv, Israel:

Thomas Stewart scored the only goal of the match at 70 minutes as Shamrock Rovers defeated Bnei Yehuda 1-0 in game two on the road and won their two-game series 2-1 on aggregate. 

At Bucharest, Romania:

Dimamo Bucharest had no trouble in game two of their two-match set with Olimpia Balti, winning the game 5-1 and winning their two-game set 7-1.  Andrei Cristea (3'), Adrian Cristea (32'), Ousmane N'Doye (45'), Catalin Munteanu (59'), and Gabriel Torje (PK-63') each scored a goal for the hosts.

At Krakow, Poland:

Five different goal scorers----Piotr Brozek (23'), Maciej Zurawski (48'), Junior Diaz (62'), Pawel Brozek (66'), and Rafal Boguski (90'+1)----each scored once as Wisla Krakow disembowed visiting FC Siauliai 5-0 in game two and won their two-game set 7-0 on aggregate.

At Vaduz, Liechtenstein:

A 0-0 stalemate on the road in game two with FC Vaduz was good enough for Brondby IF as the Danish club won their two-game series 3-0 on aggregate.

At Dundalk, Ireland:

Garra Dembele scored both goals (4', 33') as Levski Sofia blanked Dundalk 2-0 on the road in game two to finish their two-game domination of the Irish club 8-0 on aggregate.

At Toftir, Faroe Islands:

Bobo proved to be no clown as his double (32', 44') helped Besiktas deliver a 4-0 horse whipping to hosts Vikingur in game two and handily win their two-match series 7-0 on aggregate.

At Chorzow, Poland:

A 0-0 home deadlock was good enough for Ruch Chorzow, who, with the two-match aggregate score at 1-1, won their series with Valletta thanks to the away goals rule.

At Vienna, Austria:

Doubles from Nikica Jelavic (20', 90') and Rene Gartier (86', 89') provided the scoring as Rapid Vienna doubled visiting FK Suduva 4-2 in game two and won the two-game series 6-2 on aggregate.

At Maribor, Slovenia:

Dalibor Volas provided both goals (39', 80') as NK Maribor defeated visiting Videoton FC 2-0 and won their two-match set 3-1 on aggregate.

At Gyor, Hungary:

NOTE:  On Thursday, UEFA awarded a 3-0 game-one win to Gyori ETO FC because FC Atyrau from Kazakhstan fielded an ineligible player in last week's series opener.

With goals scored by Rati Aleksidze (47') and Mihai Nicorec (52') and the awarding earlier Thursday of the 3-0 forfeit win in game one, Gyori ETO FC took game two 2-0 and defeated FK Aryrau 5-0 on aggregate for the two-match series.

At Serravalle, San Marino:

Vernes Selimovic (3', 27') and Mladen Zizovic (10', PK-55') each scored twice HSK Zrinjski Mostar annihilated SP Tre Penne 9-2 on the road in game two and completed their two-match demolition of the club from San Marino 13-3 on aggregate.


At Piraeus, Greece:

Dudu (46', 79') and Enzo Maresca (75', 90') each scored twice during a six-goal second-half blitzkrieg as Olympiacos devasted visiting KS Besa 6-1 in game two and finished their two-game steamrolling of the visiting Albanian club 11-1 on aggregate.

At Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina:

Jocelyn Roux scored the series-winning goal at 65 minutes as FC Lausanne-Sport gained a 1-1 road draw in game two with FK Borac Banja Luka and won their two-game series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Dublin, Ireland:

Goals from Alonso (PK-20'), Marquinho (67'), and Kanu (87') carried Maritimo to a second straight 3-2 win over Sporting Fingal, this time on the road, and a 6-4 aggregate win for the two-game set.

At Vinkovci, Croatia:

A 0-0 draw on the road in game two was good enough for Cliftonville FC as the club from Northern Ireland won their two-game series with HNK Cibalia 1-0 on aggregate.

At Podgorica, Montenegro:

NOTE:  On Thursday, UEFA awarded a 3-0 win to Buducnost Podgorica for game one of their two-match series with FK Baku because the Azerbaijani club fielded an ineligible player in last week's series opener.

Despite dropping game home 2-1 against FK Baku, Buducnost Podgorica still won their two-match set with the club from Azerbaijan 4-2 on aggregate, as they were earlier on Thursday awarded a 3-0 forfeit win in their series opener.Nenad Brnovic scored at 64 minutes for the club from the Montenegrin capital.

At Kopavogur, Iceland:

Jamie Murphy scored the only goal of the match at 42 minutes as Motherwell gained a second successive 1-0 win over Iceland's Breidablik, enabling the Scottish club to win their two-game series 2-0 on aggregate.

At Wrexham, Wales:

David Morley (85') and Chris Jones (90'+1) provided the late scoring heroics as Bangor City FC came from behind to win game two 2-1 at home and win their two-match series with Finland's FC Honka Espoo 3-2 on aggregate.

All series (except where noted) will begin next Thursday with the return contests on August 5, with the exception of game two between Beroe Stara Zagora and Rapid Vienna, which will be played in Vienna on August 3.
