At Boyds, Maryland:
Thanks to goals courtesy of Branko Boskovic (1') and Thabiso Khumalo (47'), DC United defeated the Harrisburg City Islanders (USL-2; they were last non-MLS club remaining in the tournament) 2-0 to reach the semifinal round of the US Open Cup tournament on Wednesday night.
Both semifinal contests will take place on September 1, with DC United hosting the Columbus Crew at RFK Stadium, while Chivas USA will battle the Seattle Sounders at Tukwila, Washington. The winners will play in the final which will take place on October 5.
