At Chester, Pennsylvania:
Stoppage time goals from Cornell Glen (45'+1) and Arturo Alvarez (90'+2) enabled the visiting San Jose Earthquakes to come from behind and defeat the Philadelphia Union 2-1.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Marko Perovic (67') and Sainey Nyassi (74') each delivered a goal in the second half as the New England Revolution shocked the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0.
At Harrision, New Jersey:
The New York Red Bulls were held to a 0-0 home stalemate by DC United. The Red Bulls' unbeaten streak stretched to five games while the visitors have suffered only one defeat in their last six starts. New York's Bouna Coundoul and DC's Troy Perkins each pitched a shutout in the contest.
At Houston:
The Columbus Crew and the Houston Dynamo battled to a 0-0 deadlock. The visitors' Will Hesmer made a save and his Dynamo counterpart Pat Onstad made two as both goalkeepers registered shutouts.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
Justin Braun scored both goals (56', 87') as Chivas USA defeated the Kansas City Wizards 2-0 on the road.
