With goals courtesy of Vladimir Volkov (9'), Baco Nikolic (62'), and Jose Nadson (70'), FC Sheriff defeated visiting Dinamo Tirana 3-1 in the opening game of the clubs' two-game series.
At Belfast, Northern Ireland:
The opening match between Rosenborg and hosts Linfield FC ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
At Belgrade, Serbia:
Nemanja Tomic (29'), Almani Moreira (45'+1), and Cleo (59') carried Partizan Belgrade to a 3-1 home win over Pyunik FC in match one.
