UCLQR2: BATE Borisov, Partizan Belgrade, FK Aktobe, FK Ekranas, FC Sheriff Take Series Openers; Linfield and Rosenborg Draw

The six remaining two-game series in the second qualifying round for the 2010-11 UEFA Champions League commenced on Wednesday.

At Aktobe, Kazakhstan:

Samat Smakov provided both goals (PK-40', 53') as FK Aktobe took game one of their two-game set with Georgia's Olimpi Rustavi 2-0.

At Borisov, Belarus:

Pavel Nekhaychik's second-half hat trick (48', 85',88') was part of a five-goal blitzkrieg as FC BATE Borisov smothered visiting FH Hafnarfjordur 5-1 in the series opener.

At Panevezys, Lithuania:

A goal in the 3rd minute from Ramunas Radavicius held up as FK Ekranas held off visiting HJK Helsinki 1-0 in match one.

At Tiraspol, Moldova:

With goals courtesy of Vladimir Volkov (9'), Baco Nikolic (62'), and Jose Nadson (70'), FC Sheriff defeated visiting Dinamo Tirana 3-1 in the opening game of the clubs' two-game series.

At Belfast, Northern Ireland:

The opening match between Rosenborg and hosts Linfield FC ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

At Belgrade, Serbia:

Nemanja Tomic (29'), Almani Moreira (45'+1), and Cleo (59') carried Partizan Belgrade to a 3-1 home win over Pyunik FC in match one.
