CAF CL: Champs Get Win At Harare; JS Kabylie Also Triumph On Road; Al-Ahly And Heartland Draw

The opening weekend of group stage play in the CAF Champions League concluded with three games on Sunday.

Group A:

At Harare, Zimbabwe:

Given Singuluma scored both goals in the first half (17', 33') as TP Mazembe defeated Dynamos FC on the road 2-0.

2. Esperance ST (GP: 1; GD: +1. PTS: 3)

Group B:

At Owerri, Nigeria:

Mohamed Aboutrika's penalty kick at 75 minutes enabled Al-Ahly to gain a 1-1 road deadlock with Heartland FC.  The Nigerian club's goal came at 49 minutes from Joshua Obaje.

At Ismailia, Egypt:

Essaid Belkalem scored the lone goal of the match at 76 minutes as JS Kabylie knocked off Ismaily 1-0 on the road.
