CAF CL: Group Stage Draw; Two-Time Defending Champs Disqualified

Here are the results from group stage draw for the CAF Champions League which place in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday.


Group A:


Enyimba International FC (Nigeria)
Al-Hilal (Sudan)
Raja Casablanca (Morocco)
Coton Sport FC de Garoua (Cameroon)


Group B:


Al-Ahly (Egypt)
Winner of Special Playoff (between Simba SC of Tanzania and Morocco's Wydad Casablanca)
MC Alger (Algeria)
Esperance ST (Tunisia)


Each team in each group would play each of the other three teams twice (once at home and once on the road) with the top two clubs qualifying for the semifinal round.  Action begins sometime between July 15 and 17.


As for that special playoff between Simba SC and Wydad Casablanca, that will take place on May 28 at Cairo.  It was made necessary because on Saturday, two-time defending titleholders TP Mazembe (Democratic Republic of the Congo) were disqualified following charges of fielding an ineligible player in the first-round series against Simba SC.
