Mexican Clausura Playoffs: Azul Blanked Morelia In Semifinal Opener; Goats and Pumas Draw

The semifinal round of the Mexican Clausura playoffs commenced on Thursday with two games.


At Zepopan, Mexico:


Omar Arellano Riveron scored the equalizer at 88 minutes to carry Chivas de Guadalajara to a 1-1 home draw in the opening contest of their two-game series with UNAM Pumas.  Efrain Velarde scored at 51 minutes for the visitors from Mexico City.


At Mexico City:


Christian Gimenez (27’) and Emanuel Villa (45’) each delivered at tally in the first half as Cruz Azul downed visiting Morelia 2-0 in the opening match of their two-game semifinal series.
