Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City automatically qualified for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League; Arsenal will take part in the playoff round for a group stage berth in the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur and Birmingham City have qualified for the playoff round of next season's Europa League while Stoke City (who lost the FA Cup final to Champions League-bound Manchester City) will take part in the Europa League's third qualifying round. By being top Premier League club not to qualify for European competition in league competition, Fulham qualified for the opening round of Europa League qualification via the Fair Play League.
Birmingham City, Blackpool, and West Ham United were all relegated to the Football League Championship. They will be replaced by Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City, and Swansea City (who defeated Reading 4-2 in the League Championship promotion playoff final on May 30).
