PC Porto automatically qualified for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League while SL Benfica will enter third-round Champions League qualifying.
Sporting CP and Sporting Braga will enter the playoff round for a berth in the group stage of next season's Europa League while Vitoria de Guimaraes, who were beaten in the Taca de Portugal final by FC Porto, will take place in the third qualifying round and CD Nacional will participate in the second qualifying round.
Portimonense and Naval were relegated to the Liga de Honra. They will be replaced in the top flight by Feirense and Gil Vincente.
