At Santa Clara, California:
After a 2-2 deadlock through 120 minutes, Marco Pappa, Cristian Nazarit, Orr Barouch,Dominic Oduro, and Daniel Paladini converted their spot kicks on Tuesday as the Chicago Fire won the penalty kick shootout 5-4 over the San Jose Earthquakes to advance to the Round of 16.
At Overland Park, Kansas:
Chance Myers (9', 19') and C. J. Sapong (24', 88') each scored twice on Wednesday as Sporting Kansas City demolished the visiting New England Revolution 5-0.
