Europa League Qualifying

Forty games were played on Thursday as the second round of Europa League qualifying commenced.


At Lankaran, Azerbaijan:


Mateusz Mozdzen's equalizer in the 19th minute carried Lech Poznan to a 1-1 game-one road draw with Khazar Lankaran, whose tally came from Branimir Subasic in the fifth minute.


At Vitebsk, Belarus:


Filip Kasalica (10', 69') and Luka Milunovic (18', 34') each scored twice as Red Star Belgrade held off FC Naftan Novopolotsk 4-3 on the road in the opening match of the clubs' two-game series.


At Orhei, Moldova:


Gheorghe Boghiu scored twice (16', 51') as FC Milsami Orhei doubled-up visiting FC Aktobe 4-2 in their series opener.


At Rameskoye, Russia:


FC Anzhi Makhachkala, thanks to a 22nd-minute goal from Jucilei, took the opening contest of their two-game series with Bucharest Honved FC 1-0 at home.


At Liepaja, Latvia:


Goals from Rytis Leliuga (43') and Oskars Klava (PK-81') enabled FK Liepajas Metalurgs to salvage a 2-2 series-opening home draw with Legia Warsaw.  Michal Kucharczyk (20') and Jakub Kosecki (47') provided the scoring for the visiting Polish club.


At Kumanovo, Macedonia:


Vadim Demidovich (20') and Tomasz Nowak (39') provided the goal power as FC Gomel shut out home-standing FK Renova 2-0 in the opening contest of their two-match series.


At Lovech, Bulgaria:


Marco van Ginkel scored twice (31', 77') as Vitesse Arnhem gained a high-scoring 4-4 game-one road draw with Lokomotiv Plovdid.  Zdravko Lazarov delivered a double (49', 64') for the Bulgarian side.


At Tallinn, Estonia:


Juliano Spadacio (PK-45'), Ricardo Laborde (55'), and Toni Calvo (62') all tallied once as Anorthosis Famagusta FC defeated FC Lavadia Tallinn 3-1 in game one on the road.


At Tbilisi, Georgia:


Pavel Horvath scored twice (14', 59') as FC Viktoria Plzen took game one of their two-match series with Metalurgi Rustavi 3-1 on the road.


At Baku, Azerbaijan:


Fernando Usero delivered the equalizer (and potentially priceless away goal) in the 54th minute as Asteras Tripolis FC of Greece gained a 1-1 game-one road draw with Inter Baku, whose tally came in the 46th minute, courtesy of Tales Schutz.


At Jyvaskyla, Finland:


Tamas Gruborovics' hat trick (PK-27', 43', 47') proved just enough as JJK held off visiting FK Zeta 3-2 in the opening game of their two-game series, a series in which the Montenegrin club remained very much alive thanks to goals from Boris Dosljak (17') and Milos B. Radulovic (38').


At Ljubljana, Slovenia:


The opening match between Olimpija Ljubljana and visiting Tromso IL from Norway ended in a 0-0 stalemate.


At Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg:


Cesar Arzo scored the only goal of the match in the 27th minute as KAA Gent grabbed the opening match of their two-contest affair with FC Differdange 03 1-0 on the road.  The hosts played the last 55 minutes of the game with only ten men.


At Salihorsk, Belarus:


SV Ried gained a 1-1 match-one draw with FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk, thanks to Anel Hadzic's successful penalty kick in the 71st minute.  Dmitri Osipenko scored for the hosts in the 44th minute.


At Eskisehir, Turkey:


With Alper Potuk (41') and Frazer Wright (OG-65') providing the scoring Eskisehirspor downed visiting St. Johnstone 2-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.


At Solna, Sweden:


Viktor Lundberg's equalizer in the 56th minute enabled AIK Solna to salvage a 1-1 series-opening deadlock with visiting FH Hafnarfjordur.  Atli Gudnason scored in the 40th minute for the Icelandic club.


At Tirane, Albania:


Tremaine Stewart delivered a 57th-minute equalizer to lift Aalesund to a 1-1 game-one road draw with FK Tirana.  Mirel Cota scored for the hosts in the 38th minute.


At Donetsk, Ukraine:


With Gevorg Ghazaryan delivering a hat trick (36', 61', 86') and Constantinos Makridis adding a double (17', 49'), Metaluhr Donetsk destroyed visiting FK Celik Niksic 7-0 in their series opener.


At Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic:


Lukas Magera scored twice in the first half (33', 43') as FK Mlada Boleslav blanked visiting Thor Akureyri from Iceland 3-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.


At Koprivnica, Croatia:


Add Nikola Rak's hat trick (56', 71', 80'), along with Tomislav Busic's double (13', 33'), mixed in with Garry Breen's own goal (1'), and you have a recipe for a 6-0 demolition, which is what Slaven Koprivnica did to visiting Portadown in game one, placing the Croatian club 90 minutes from the third qualifying round.


At Sofia, Bulgaria:


Simeon Raykov scored the only goal of the match in the 72nd minute as Levski Sofia defeated visiting FK Sarajevo 1-0 in the opening contest of their two-match set.


At Ramat Gan, Israel:


Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv FC, with goals from Dino Ndlovu (82') and Pedro Galvan (90'+4) each scoring once, blanked visiting Shirak 2-0 in their series opener.


At Trondheim, Norway:


Roman Pakholiuk (75') and Gueye Mansour (90'+3) provided the scoring as FC Orbabasy erased a two-goal deficit and gained a 2-2 game-one road draw with Rosenborg.  Borek Dockal scored both of the Trond Kids' goals (33', 45'+2).


At Trnava, Slovakia:


Martin Mikovic scored twice within a minute shortly before halftime (45', 45'+1) as FC Spartak Trnava defeated visiting Sligo Rovers 3-1 in match one of their two-contest series.


At Nicosia, Cyprus:


Ailton (33') and Constantinos Charalambides (40') delivered the goal power as APOEL FC, who last season reached the UEFA Champions League's quarterfinal round, took game one of their two-game series with FK Senica 2-0 at home.


At Chorzow, Poland:


Arkadiusz Piech scored twice in the second half (74', 83') as Ruch Chorzow downed visiting FK Metalurg Skopje 3-1 in game one.


At Aarhus, Denmark:


FC Dila Gori, with Mate Vatsadze (34') and Kakhaber Aladasvili (84') providing the scoring, came back from a very early deficit to outgun AGF on the road in match one 2-1.


At Chisinau, Moldova:


Maxim Mihaliov scored the lone goal of match one in the 32nd minute as FC Dacia Chisinau downed visiting Elfsborg 1-0.


At Bern, Switzerland:


Michael Frey scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute as BSC Young Boys defeated visiting FC Zimbru Chisinau 1-0 in their series opener.


At Vilnius, Lithuania:


Ramunas Radavicius' equalizer at 72 minutes enabled Zalgiris to salvage a 1-1 game-one home draw with VfB Admira Wacker Modling.  Philipp Hosiner scored what could still prove to be a precious away goal for the Austrian club in the 12th minute.


At Bucharest, Romania:


With Filipe Teixeira (8'), Nicolae Grigore (40'), and Daniel Pancu (45') each scoring a first-half goal, Rapid Bucharest held off visiting MYPA 3-1 in game one of their two-match series.


At Geneva, Switzerland:


Servette FC, with goals courtesy of Goran Karanovic (48') and Kevin Gissi (79'), defeated visiting FC Gandzasar 2-0 in match one of their two-game set.


At Enschede, Netherlands:


Dusan Tadic scored in the 66th minute, enabling FC Twente to salvage a series-opening 1-1 home draw with Finland's Inter Turku.  Pim Bowman scored for the hosts in the 38th minute.


At Petah Tikva, Israel:


Aleksi Paananen scored twice in the first half (36', 75'), helping to carry KuPS of Finland to a series-opening 2-1 road win over Maccabi Netanya FC.


At Osijek, Croatia:


With Daniel Mendes (34'), Abiola Dauda (66'), and Archieford Gutu (68') each delivering a goal, Sweden's Kalmar FF took game one on the road, 3-1 over NK Osijek.


At Lendava, Slovenia:


The opening contest between ND Mura 05 and visiting CSKA Sofia ended in a 0-0 stalemate.


At Bratislava, Slovakia:


With Filipe Oliveira delivering a game-tying goal at 30 minutes, Hungary's Videoton FC gained a series-opening 1-1 road draw with SK Slovan Bratislava.  Filip Sebo scored in the 26th minute for the hosts.


At Split, Croatia:


Hajduk Split will take a 2-0 advantage into Latvia for next week's return match with Skonto following their series-opening home win, helped along by goals courtesy of Ante Vukusic (34') and Dinko Trebotic (58').


At Novi Sad, Serbia:


FK Vojvodina salvaged a series-opening 1-1 deadlock with FK Suduva Marijampole, thanks to Aboubakar Oumarou's stoppage-time equalizer (90'+3).  Ricardas Beniusis scored for the visiting Lithuanian club in the 56th minute.


At Siroki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina:


Wagner's stoppage-time equalizer (90'+3) enabled NK Siroki Brijeg to salvage a 1-1 game-one home draw with St. Patrick's Athletic.  Christy Fagan scored in the 12th minute for the Irish club.
