MLS: Sounders End Winless Streak; RSL Blast Timbers; Three Scoreless Stalemates

Five games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.


At Kansas City, Kansas:


The contest between Sporting Kansas City and the visiting Houston Dynamo ended in a 0-0 stalemate.


At Sandy, Utah:


A natural hat trick from Alvaro Saborio (60', 62', PK-75') carried Real Salt Lake to a 3-0 home beatdown of the ten-man Portland Timbers.


At Frisco, Texas:


The San Jose Earthquakes held home-standing FC Dallas to a 0-0 deadlock.


At Carson, California:


Chivas USA and the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps battled to a 0-0 draw.


At Seattle:


Alvaro Fernandez (52') and Eddie Johnson (64') provided the scoring as the Seattle Sounders ended a club-record (MLS) nine-match winless streak with a 2-1 home win over the Colorado Rapids.
