UEFA Champions League Qualifying: Dynamo Kiev, Panathinaikos Win Series Openers

The third round of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League opened on Tuesday with the opening games to two two-game series.


At Kiev, Ukraine:


Ideye Brown scored the winning goal in the 69th minute as Dynamo Kiev came back from a one-goal deficit and defeated visiting Feyenoord Rotterdam 2-1 in the opening contest of their two-match series.  Ruben Schaken scored in the 49th minute to keep the Dutch club alive in the series.


At Motherwell, Scotland:


Lazaros Christodoulopoulos (14') and Charis Mavrias  (75') each delivered a goal as Panathinaikos defeated Motherwell (who had been awarded Scotland's second Champions League spot due to Rangers' financial woes) 2-0 on the road in their series opener.
